March 31 is World Backup Day – Do You Know Where Your Data Is?
We sure talk a lot about data backup here at TAZ Networks. But we’re not the only ones. The idea for World Backup Day started on Reddit a few years ago to educate individuals about the importance of regular data backups.
World Backup Day is a simple idea: back up your files on March 31, so you’re not an “April Fool” the next day. Their web site has some interesting statistics:
- 30% of people have never run a data backup
- 113 phones are lost or stolen every minute
- 1 in 10 computers are infected with viruses each month
While these statistics focus on individuals, we see similar problems in small businesses. Companies that don’t even bother to run data backups. Some are still using tapes. Others are swapping unwieldy hard drives once a week.
There are easier, more efficient, and more secure ways to handle business data backup. Below are a few articles we’ve run in the past. If you’d like more information about our backup solutions like TAZ Cloud Backup or Standby Server, fill out the form on the right and we’ll give you a call.
And don’t be an “April Fool” when it comes to your business data backups!
